Equipment
Before booking, check out the equipment each studio can provide. Make sure they have everything you need! If you're looking for a professional portrait studio, you should expect to see some high quality lighting, and other gear included with your booking. If you’re not sure, then ask yourself these questions to help guide your search!
Do I need an infinity cove or a variety of backdrop options?
Am I looking for a space with natural light, or do I want to experiment with studio lighting?
Do I need a room for my models to get ready in-between shoots?
Remember not everywhere will be able offer everything you need, but a good studio should come pretty close…
Booking Type
How long do you need for your shoot?
Most studios should be able to offer flexible working times, with the option of half or full days in the space. Finding the perfect studio shouldn’t be stressful; you should be excited about your visit not panicking about running out of time! If you’re looking for a cost effective route, then keep an eye out for any discounted booking types.
At Lightspace our rates are dependant on who’s using the space. For example, creative or student bookings are shown at a lower the price as know budgets may be smaller for these shoots. This may help you especially if you’re just starting your photography journey!
Look At Their Portfolio
Most studios will have a gallery of previous shoots, look who’s been there and the kind of shoots that work well in that space. It’s always great to ask around and see who has worked there before - good reviews travel fast!
